Where Babies Are Made.
Hey guys,

I have been moving around my tanks and ended up with my 110gal empty

I have been considering, getting a red devil for the tank, footprint is 48x24,
would it be possible to have tank mates for him? if so what?
I was Also considering getting a jag, but it appears they get to big for my tank.
my lfs also had some red bay snooks, (were not the red variety) could one of these work?

Im open to suggestions, on what to get.
cheers.

I have a JD, and A Oscar in with my RD. Just a Tad of agression, but I have had them since they were very small.

i have Oscars and Black belts in with my RD... the oscar occasionally squabble with each other but all the others get along fine.. i think if you grow them up from babies together you have a better chance of things working out..but no matter what they are all individuals..so it is always wait and see.. no quarentees.

hmm yes, my 13" RD wont tolerate tank mates atall. ive not tried a female RD i might do sometme. its always chance and luck, each fish is individual so you might be lucky and get a placid one or you might end up with a phsycotic killer like mine.

your best bet is too grow them up from 2" as Red devil already stated you would have the best chance of success that way but there is no guarentee

I wouldn't try any tankmates, foot print is too small.May work when the RD is younger but at some point he will snap and kill tankmates

i believe you only hope is to either have to other fish established first or to grow them up together... i recently had a established fish before i put my RD in and he did fine with only territorial chasing but after i took the other fish out he went absolutely nuts and will no longer even allow my hands in the tank
