Hey all

Just after some educated opinions as to whether or not a red devil may fit in to my 300 gallon tank with my other "monsters".

Tank inhabitants are as per my signature and recently i got rid of my flowerhorn and blackbelt.

I know its always up to the individual fish but i'm willing to try a few to get the right one.

All opinions welcome.

Thanks Dave :)

Varied collection you have there, any pics?

Oh, try it and find out I guess would be the only way to be sure.

Yes, chances are it would work.

Yes Red Devils exist that would work out... yes Red Devils exist that would not...

I would buy a few juveniles and select the one with the calmest personality. Note: Wait, till they grow to about 5-6 inches so you'll see their true colors.

Thanks for the opinions all, i think i'll give it a try with a 5 - 6 inch RD.
Male or female, which would be preferable ??

Some pics of the other tank inhabitants.

Red Devils work in any tank they can fit in ; D

I'd go with a male. While they are generally more aggressive than a female you won't have to worry about hybrids or a female Devil protecting her eggs.
