Almost had babies! My female jaguar 9inches, and my 10'' red devil Male. They were both acting like good parents guarding the eggs but the red devil never fert them. He was over there like crazy guarding them with the jag but the eggs turned white.

Also sense than i can't put my hand in the tank without getting attacked. My red devil is nuts now and bites the glass when he sees me :)

Anyone have luck breeding them together? Isn't it true if the eggs turn white they aren't fertile?

From mine experience with discus, new pair male need to breed afew time to gain experience to fertilize the egg. Let them breed afew more time and see how, do feed more esp live food if possible to get them into best breeding condition.

Give him a couple more chances. It has been done. If you search the hybrid forum you might find it. Also Post it on the cichlid hybrid forum if your get fry.
There gonna be aggressive as hell

you could search the hybrid section.i have a jag(female)Xtexas seems jags are very easy to cross,i would keep them together longer,if not much aggression, they might look interesting

Jag pregnant again rdy to burst. Keeping all other fish away and cleaning a rock. Im not a 100% sure the rd is male either. Guess i will find out if the eggs turn white again. I could vent him but he attacks.

Good luck with the breeding behavior. If it is male, he may just not have the experience. It took my convict a while to figure it out. Keep up the healthy diet and water changes; you'll be fine. I just hope you don't have two females, but it does not sounds like it.
