I think I've asked this before, but I couldn't seem to fin the thread. Has anyone been able to keep Rd/midas with any bottom-dwellers, or non-cichlids for that matter? Or did they kill everything?

Any sized devil. Tank would be 55 or 75 depending on things. 75 if yes and 55 if no.

I've heard of a few lone Midas being just fine with a large pleco. It depends on the individual fish, most likely. I think they'd have a better chance of survival living with a male over an egg-laying female. Any other thoughts?

The bottom-dwellers would be some variety/combination of the ones in my signature.

Depends on the individule fish, my RD pair 8 & 11" have never been a problem housing with any smaller fish. I just recently moved the into a tank with 14 4 to 6" loaches a 6" pictus cat and a 5" pleco, no problems yet nor do I expect any.

What size is your tank? Size of tank can influence your fish's personality as much as the fact that they are cichlids therefore having various personalities.

55 with probably pictus cats

My RD couldnt be housed with anything. She killed every fish I ever put in with her. Killed 10" Pualina, and a 12" planiceps in the same night.

my 10" barred midas in my 90 is always picking at my 10" pleco. if i put anything else in there it would be dead by morning. the only other thing that has survived is a 8" goldfish, possibly cause its orange and doesnt remind the midas of another midas in any way.
