Red Devil/Midas with Pimelodus blochii?

The bigger the tank the easier it is to have tankmates, but some midas/RD dont tolerate anything.
 
I haven't kept them since the 80s, and then they were young. D'you think if I start with a youngster it may accept the non-competitive tankmate and not go nuts later like dovii?
