Red Devil or Midas

Hi i just bought a Midas or a Red Devil from my LFS. They sold it to my as a Midas but i thought it could be a RD because his lips are so big
Hes just 2 or 3 inches now with my 4 inch RTC so he wont last for long
Is he a RD or a Midas?

Most likely the typical LFS mutt. About the only hybrid the hardcore cichlid keepers could ever keep

Those lips don't look very large, but post pics when it gets larger.

my guess ..(and its just a guess ) ...... looks more like a rd than midas ..... i have a 4" rd in with a 6-7" tsn ...... holds his own pretty good ... smart and aggressive.... his growth rate has been just fast enough to keep him out of the tsn's mouth for now..

it looks too thin to be a Midas and too thick to be a Red Devil. i would say it's a possible hybrid. post some good side shots of it.

Edit: you posted the side shot before i finished posting...i'm still thinking it could be a hybrid.

red devil's tend to have bigger lips and a thinner build than the midas does.

I would say RD...mirrors my RD at that size, and I am fairly confident my one is a true RD!! Mine has those luscious lips......which will come shortly in your one.
