Hi All,
Wonderedif anyone has any advice on this problem.
A few month my Red Devil Chiclid (Basil) was looking quite ill ago and was not eating and my local aquarist diagnosed whitespot and I treated the tank as per instructions. After 24 Hours I found Basil laying at the bottom of the tank with what looked like white peeling skin all over him ( a bit like after you have had sunburn ). Fearing it may be a reaction to the I carried out a 80% water change upped the temp and added some salt (Advice from this site ) Cheer guys
Within 20 minutes the coating fell of and he was swimming round like nothing had happened. Since then every week Basil gets a few sugar like, whitespots over his body and fins and small white threads about half a cm long and looking like cotton around his eye socket. Strange thing is after I carry out my weekly 20% water change within a couple of minutes they all dissapear for another week. All my tests seem to show the water is OK my local store says its not whitespot as it washes off so quickly but cannot suggest a cause. Any Ideas?
Cheers Seabiker
