I have never kept a midas or Labiatus before, but I have an extra 125 and I am really considering it. I have seen so many different colors and variations so I have a question.
If I order the small Labiatus from the TUIC what would I expect them to look like? Do all Labiatus eventually turn solid red? I am mostly interested in the white & Red ones. Is that considered a certain patterN?

yes i would say they are certain pattern

You will never know what they will end up looking like when adults unless they are barred, xanthic or albino. They go through so many changes that, if youre like most on here, youll dislike their looks one week and love them the next.

Also, keep in mind, out of all the members on here, probably less than 5 have ever been able to have a mature adult RD in a community and those that did had tanks at least 3x bigger than a 125.

I personally have tried 3x in tanks up to 265 and never been successful with it once they get over about 8".

Midas, on the other hand, are somewhat more forgiving in a community tank. Not a whole lot more, but youd still have a better chance if you ever wanted to add other fish with a midas.

Good luck.

Yes, a pair in a 125 will work. Watch the aggression towards the female. I dont know what Rapps (TUIC) has now but I bought 2 barred blue Devils from him last Summer. I currently have 2 x barred blue devil, 1 x barred red, red devil, 1 x white w/org, red devil. I have fry available from my WC white/org devil. Fishman09's avatar is one of my fry. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?447109-240-Gallon-Pics
