Red devil refuses to get from top of water level

I gave him silking pellets first 8 months of his life..i changed to floating pellets..last 2 months..he 7 in in 150 gallon..2nd in dominance to green texas..green terror 3rd and hybrid texas/convict 4th..red devil not eating unless food sinks to bottom. 150 is a tall tank 4 ft by 24 in wide i think 36 in high..(could be off on that) green terror and hybrid about to more into second..i put floating plants on top to make him feel sucure..tryed lights out feeding..should i strave them for a week?20180201_234323.jpg
 
sounds like the devil is being bullied. you can expect more and more issues like this and probably some casualties in your tank as the fish mature. unfortunately i dont think they will all coexist in there as they become larger and more territorial.

i dont think starving will help. maybe make a divider to keep them apart until you can arrange another living situation.

I agree. Maybe look at getting a long instead of a tall. Either that or trade, sell or give a few fish away. If you have another hospital tank you can try to seperate the aggressor or victim for a time being.
