I adopted out from a customer a red devil cichlid but ever since I got him he is lethargic and not apparently eating he will gladly murder the feeders but for the most part he just hides I swapped him into sand aquarium and recently put in plants but he still just wants to hide and not move. He is about five inches long and orange mostly he doesn't react to food and I haven't a clue how to get him moving about all the cichlids at Petco swim up to the tank when I approach. He has no signs of disease and has been this way all four months I've had him

they can be pretty picky, did you ask what he was being fed? also after 4 months he must be eating something. as im sure you know some cichlids are very nervous while others from the same species are bold as brass....

she said he was eating her fish so I got him feeders. He's alone in his tank we had a shell and he would try to climb into it face first
