red devil tankmates

I have a relativly small (4") red devil already and I was thinking that by spring he will have grown some more and I could put him out in a 170 gallon pond for the summer. However I don't want him to have the whole pond so I need your help to suggest some tankmates
So far I like :Mayan cichlids, grammodes,islantum,festae,dovii,beani,and umbie
I know alot of these fish are pretty rough but so is my RD

Well considering your in canada, what size tank will the fish be in during the winter months?

probably a 100-150 gallon range depending on what I can find up here during the summer

Get the tank first so You know how much room You have.Then You can figure which will work best.Most likely none of these will co-exist in a 100-150.Def. not dovii or umbie,a single male of either will out grow a 150 in a hurry

I actually have a 100 right now that i'm just building the stand for if any of these guys will get along with an achara catfish

Males to 10 inches females to 7 more commonly 6. But they can hold there own I kept a male salvvini with a male red devil for 3 years tried to add other fish among this list was trimac, jag, black belt, j/d and a few others none of them made it long. Both the red devil and salvini were really aggresive. And if the red devil was ok with a fish the salvini hated it and vice versa. I was so angry I wanted something else with them so bad. But cichlids decide there tank mates we just put options in front of them.

Ok i'll look around for them, the only problem is I have never seen them in my area(barren of monster fish)

I've never seen a salvini over 6". Got any pics of em?
