My red devil has up until now gotten along pretty well with my belly crawler pike, but recently i notice him trying to get into the fake tree trunk i have for the belly crawler to hide in. at 9 inches long and over 4 inches top to bottom already (i have only had him a little over a year), there's no way he can get in there, but he sure is trying like hell. another thing i've noticed him doing a lot is sucking up gravel and spitting it into the openings in the trunk...talk about sinister! craziest fish i've ever had. anybody else had any experiences like this?

red devils are known for getting along with other fish for a while, and then one day snapping and going on a psychotic rampage killing all in their path. I'd keep a very close eye on the situation. even if the red devil can't get to the belly crawler, if the belly crawler can't come out of that trunk without being harrassed then you should probably consider moving it. :)

i watch it closely...he's not that aggressive with him constantly yet, but if it continues or gets worse i have a buddy who will take the pike. it's not the digging in the gravel that i think is weird, just the fact that he is now spittingi it into the pikes home, like he's trying to bury him..i just find it funny

You pike probly doesnt :D
"get this crap off my lawn!"

but yeah, I dunno if its a good ide to keep him there with someone who harasses and actively tries to bury him
