Hey all,

Just posted a new vid on my youtube account. "The General" gets dropped into "T-mac's" Tank for a photo opportunity. Not to worry, nobody gets hurt. Had the trimac been dropped into the Midas tank...well, that would have been a different story. We won't even be attempting that one. The General owns anything that hits the water in his territory.

Pray tell, what's the point of this?

lovely cichlids but not really any point other than to stress them all out,at least they didnt kill each other!

There are a few points to the exercise. As I mentioned, one is for the photos of these two brutes swimming together. The other would be to see whether or not they may get along. I've had friends who have kept similar species together with success. I wish that I could as well, as it would make for an amazing tank. Obviously there was some tension, so they won't be living together (unless I could throw an 8 foot down into the basement, then maybe).

As far as stress goes, not too concerned. Not only were no shots taken, but both were begging for food and gulping down pellets within an hour or so afterwards.

As far as tank size goes, the trimac (I onlly have the one now, sold the smaller one) is about ... maybe 8.5 to 9" or so. He's in a 55G until we move into the new house.

sc~
Your trimac are amazing!! I saw the other video (of the two males fighting), they both have really cool finnage.
How old is the male you currently have? And what do you feed him? You should get him a female:)

yes i can understand,a tank with large cichlids does look amazing but i think you have to put them in as juvies 'cause of the territoriality p.s i hope you eventually get the 8 footer:)

Wow, thats crazy. I thought those t-macs would have ripped that devil up...
