My large RD male won’t take worms but I would really like him to, to vary his diet more. He will take his pellets, grasshoppers, crickets, etc. any advice to try to get him started.
If he’s healthy, robust and already eating well, why do you feel compelled to introduce worms? Just curious. Amphs can live solely on a high quality pellet, without the addition of live foods.
Well I’m not very experienced in keeping the amph species but I figured worms might be a healthy treat for him, my old JDs and Texas cichlids loved them.
If it won't take worms, then it won't take worms. No point in forcing a pellet trained fish to take worms. I had an oscar afraid of earthworms and red wrigglers. It was happy with everything else. Feed it freeze dried krill soaked in Boyd's vitachem if you're want to change up it's diet. There's a plethora of frozed fish food that could be fed as well.
