my red devil and my flowerhorn layed eggs yesterday i was just wondering what color the eggs will be if they are fertile. i will post pics if they hatch.

if they're fertile they should be a tan color. The whitish ones are not fertile.

most of the eggs are a tan yellow color and a few are white is that a good sigh? This is the first time the red devil has laid eggs will that slim the chance of them hatching?

THANKS.

Sounds like most of them are fertile. There is a good chance that they'll hatch, but they may get eaten as well.

The female is doing a great job guarding the cave. There at least 150+ eggs so i really hope they hatch. i looked closer at the eggs and some have white dots on the side what is it from?

thanks.

the white dots could be a fungus growing over them. You'll have a better idea in the next day. Check it out in the morning and see how many are still tan.

i dont think they are going to hatch. but i did not think they were going to lay the eggs my flowerhorn bit her tail off and attacked the $^%# out of her.then boom they laid eegs her tail is healing looks alot beter when do u think they will breed again?

they will breed again more than likely. Keep the eggs in there, you should see black dots on the eggs tomorrow night, or by the next morning for sure. If you don't they are not good. It takes them a couple times sometimes. There is a guy on this FH forum that had this same pair and he got some pretty neat fry. Not all where nice, but there where a few that had some great traits, and looked really cool. GL with your project!!

well i thought it took 3 days for them to hatch its been about 3 days and im not seeing and black dots am i right about the 3 day thing?

USUALLY 3 days. If they are all solid white they are bad. I would give it one day to be sure, but if they are really white they probly are no good. They'll get it right sooner or later. Are they small still?
