he/she is at my LFS in a 10gal tank and has been for about a month.
I thought about getting rid of all my convicts because I'm not a big
convict person, they breed like crazy and my LFS don't take them
often. So there is no way I could even get rid of them all.
My only problem is I only have a 29gal at the moment. I know
that this fish needs bigger but I don't want to see him suffer
anymore in this tiny tank.
Its not even a true red devil. I think its mixed with something else
but I don't know what it is.

I think it looks hybrid, but don't take my word on it, 50 bucks I would say is kind of steep for that fish! If they have it in a 10g them I would assume your 29 would be much better

That is a gorgeous RD/Midas!!! I love the all white with crazy eyes.

See if you can talk them down. I was in a similar situation a while back with a Midas I wanted. I didn't have the room for him so I didn't buy him. But if he'd looked as good as yours, I would have made it work.

I would say a 29g would be ok for a week or two, with meticulous maintenance and observation of water quality, until you can get a 55g-75g.

pretty sure its a red devil midas cross, and 50 is way to expensive, i got mine for 20 and it was 6 inches. and 29 is much too small...

yeah, that's true. a 29 gallon would be better for a baby RD for $5 from petsmart, until you can get a bigger tank. probably better to get the tank first, though.

It looks really nice! I agree with everyone else that 50 bucks is way too much.

As for the 29 gallon, It sure is heck better than the 10 gallon. If you can make plans to upgrade soon (55gallon or larger), then I don't see any reason you shouldn't buy it.

see I don't know when I would be able to get a 55gal though ):
thats what sucks about this. Like I really want him but I know my tank
still wont be big enough.

i would say start looking right now for tanks on craiglist to even see if you could get a tank for him and then consider buying it more, just a thought
