red devils at pet smart

i was at pet smart getting feeder fish for my green sunfish and i saw that they had the normal lfs red devils which were yellowish orange and they also had grey ones. would the grey be a true red devil

Probably not.
Neither are the colored ones.

Isn't it weird though how they're fully colored up by 2"?

Got this one from a reputable LFS in town, supposed to be bred by the owner... He's about 3"

i dont really have a good place to buy one locally all the pet stores were i live have the hybrid midas/red devils and im not a big hybrid fan

This place in richmond va has a few of them this size at 20$ a shot, its not a ridiculous ride from wv, and they also have a 2000 gallon show tank that would be worth the ride.

yes, they are "real" red devils, they just haven't faded.
