red devils with large spawn of fry

im actually confused as to how this could be since she just had a failed spawn of fungus covered eggs a few days ago,but male refused to let the female abandon her post,i get up today and notice they have a large cluster of fry hidden near the gravel beneath the female,cant get a good pic of it cause the angle

Congrats ! They probably spawned after the first batch went bad.

Are you sure it failed? Some of the eggs probably fungus over and as the good eggs hatch they will move them from the nest to a more protected area.
Typical cichlid behavior.
Either way, congrats on the spawn.
