ok so my female got kinda beat up from my male and she lost some scales besides adding salt and doing w/c anything else i can do for her

thanks guys yeah i seperated them a while ago now ill pick up some melafix

make sure u do a 25% water change atleast after a couple of days of treating with melfix

yup, after a few days of melafix and separation she should start looking a lot better. you should probably consider making a divider so that she can get away from the male when he gets too aggressive. red devils are known for spousal abuse and if they're having problems now then chances are things won't get much better as the fish get bigger.

I've seen MAJOR problems arise from using melafix, mainly fish deaths. They're central americans, and can handle hardness. Add 1 tablespoon of kosher salt per 5 gals of water, and she'll heal up perfectly. Salt is a great cure all, really helps the fish maintain their osmotic balance.
