So my lfs has about 6 10-12" Reds in 20 gallon tanks. They have been there for quite some time Im quite sure possibly years. They want a 100bux per fish. I have been wanting to try and get them out of their predicament. They have no hith or any other visible problems. I know the price is outlandish. They seem to be in good health on the crappy flake food diet but I was wondering if I could finagle a cheaper price and be willing to ship them would any body have any interest in getting them out of there living hell? I know the owner personally and I am quite sure I could work something out. If I have to trade some of my extra tanks/equipment i will. It just bothers the crap out of me to see such cool fish with no space to live. I can certainly get pictures if anybody has any interest at all. I dont have the space or the compatible fish to get them or else i would.

Yeah, you can usually find better prices in the Marketplace and craigslist. A wild one or F1 of that size from a reputable vendor will cost more than the common ones from LFS and you also have to factor in shipping. Maybe the store will cut you a break if you can find enough people to buy all of the Red Devils at once. It's good that you are trying to find them better homes. Big fish deserve big tanks.
offer the guy 40 bucks. if he takes great, if not.... he can keep them cramped in that tank for a few more years.
