Red Devils

I have some red devils and they are about 2-3 inches and are grey with a black line. I was wondering, what size are red devils when they change from grey with a black line to a reddish or black color?

It depends on the fish. Some may not even peel.

I've breed midas before, the ones that changed seemed to changed very small, maybe 1-2". Sorry not devils, but close.

I am confused because they are huge and still grey and at my lfs they are red and one inch long.

Grey is a color morph and they will probably stay that color if they are already large

Grouping should have very little if nothing to do with it, genetics of the individual fish will be the biggest factor
