At such a small size, I would suggest good old flakes. I've never had any be finicky, so I'm surprised to hear of all these other people with finicky ones. Hm

and you can put a res devil in a 55 but yes, a 75 gal would b better for one

ive had a few Rd and i guess the behavior really depends on its environment and tankmates, ive never kept them alone and theyve always had alot of hiding places. so if i were you id get rid of 1 of those guys and get a bigger tank the 30 will prolly be ok for a bit but if you want the fish to grow and look to its fullest potiental id definatly upgrade to at least a 75, more if you want tankmates

I have a male and female RD. They both will devour cichlid pellets and the very occasional feeder.

try sinking pond pellets, i have a RD and he loves those, something like sturgeon pellets or sommet lol

i dont think that would be a very good diet for a cichlid Gothyc_samurai

They should be alright, just maintain variety in any fishes' diet, that's the important thing
