red dragon flower horn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my guess is male. Not sure on the red dragon. Looks like a regular ZZ to me though. Looks like it has a hard kok and not water kok, so probably won't get real big.

looks like a red dragon ZZ FH
and is a male
but i think you paid tooo much for this fish

its hard to tell if its a male or female from the picture. If you want to find out, put a know female or male in the same tank with a partition and you will find out after a couple of week if given the right condition.

This is a good starting fish for you to gain some experience in keeping and knowing the grading of flowerhorn.

Grand sumo will help fatten up your fish, but it will not give your fish a bigger or a waterhead. Waterhead is genetic. You can feed your fish the best food its entire life and if the fish does not have the gene for a big head, the head will never get big. Don't waste your money on those imported food. Give your fish the best of care and feed variety of food.

If you're looking for a flowerhorn that will have a big head/hump/kok, put more money into a higher quality flowerhorn that you save from buying those expensive food.

dam bro, not to sound mean but you got took to the cleaners man. That fish is worth $20-$40 tops. Unless the picture is really bad and it's super pearly and super red. I don't think it will develop a kok. I have this guy on AB right now, it's a water kok ZZ. Color is really good, decent pearling, short face, never been sick. I'm in Ypsilanti, I see you are in detroit, so you don't have to ship. Let me know.

hey I can't post pic at work, his pic is in this link. It's the big zz on the bottom

nice, i'm new to the community... just got my first red cherry flowerhorn and it died less than a week. There was something different about his color; twas very timid and dark in color. I thought it was due to environment change... according to something i read. I believe he may have been sick. Still excited tho, nonetheless. Going to get a replacement right away.
