after like 4 days i noticed all eggs were mssing except for the infertile, white ones and female hanging around this small pit she had dug under the flowerpot where the eggs originally were, now it looks like she has dug a second hole on the other side of the tank and is going back and forth from the 1st one to this new one? how long are the fry in the wiggler stage and does this sound like shes moving them around the tank.theres no other fish in the tank except her mate.i cant actually see anything moving but the gravel is dark colored and at the angle she has dug the pits it would be hard to see especially if they are down into the crevices

That is exactly what that sounds like. Sometimes I'll see little left over pieces of the hatched eggs from my dovii if I look really closely. My female always moves the wigglers to a place where she can keep them contained.

I agree with Rass, it definitely sounds like parenting behaviour. Could always stick your hand in the tank and see if she'll go murderous psycopath on ya, lol it may not feel pleasant but it's another good sign that she has wrigglers. Also when it came to mine they were all free swimming within less then a week of being wrigglers. You got any fake plants or large rock structures in the tank for the fry to hide in? It'll atleast help with the rearing of fry.

That's good that they have plenty of places to hide atleast.

I guess your female is a bit more aggressive then my 2 atm. The lil one I got will nip every now and then but her big sis just cowers away from me. Their father on the other hand was and incredibly mean fish, he'd bite me every chance he got.
