Turtles shed skin just like every other reptile. But they shed in little pieces here and there. You do have a basking area for your turtle to get out of the water and completely dry off, right?

proboably just shedding nothing to worry about...do have that basking spot available as it aids in the shedding process...

yes i do, its a basking dock that suctions to the glass. i have a heat lam also. i keep it on all the time, at night i dim it so its just barley on. but it still is just a little.

my turtles dont really use the dock, just like a little while a day? any way i could make them get on it more?

thanks for the help :)

As long as you have a place for them to bask, you'll be fine. In the wild basking turtle species such as Sliders spend many house a day out of the water doing this activity. If a turtle in captivity does not have a place to dry off, it can develop skin fungus. Most turtle species should have access to a basking area, even if you never see them use it.

thank you, that makes me feel better. one is on it right now whick means i cant get up or he will dive into the water. but very rarely i see them both on it. but thanks for the help.

i feed them crickets, feeders rarely, frozen food with vitiman d i tink it is?, turtle sticks, freeze dried krill, frozen krill

is there anything elsei should feed them?

i had an " all living things " light burn out on me, so on the way home from college i got a "Zoo med" 75 watt light ( backing of course ) and for some reason now all the time my turtles are on the docking platform! any reason on this??

Youve got plenty of variety already. Keep turtle sticks as a staple though and you should be fine. By the way, animals do almost all their daily activities when you arent looking ;)
