Just a questions for the Americans in here, its about red ear sliders turtles, I was wondering if they are rare or hard to come by over there?

I've seen several members on this site and others saying that they really want a red ear sliders.

I can catch them all around where I live. The only RES I have that's hard to find is this one:
Oddball, is that turtle yours??? Damn, that thing is BAD @$$!!!

They are in abundance in Canada also. Not aloud to sell here as they are indigenous to the location. I have one that was pulled from a lake about 10 years ago from my father in law and he is great. will eat out of your hand and cruises around the back yard when i change water.

ya there so comman im suprised they havent ben a food source like chickens
