would these to combos red ear turtle + red belly newt. will the turtles bite at the newts, also thinking about throwing in couple aquatic frogs. the environment will only be a 10 g tank.
thx

Bad idea on multiple fronts. Not only will a RES (red-eared slider) try out the newts and frogs as food, it'll outgrow the confines of a 10 gal fairly quickly (carapace size to 12"). RES also require special lighting that can harm amphibians through prolonged exposure. Another problem depends on the choice of frog. Most native "green" frogs are highly carnivorous and will hunt newts and other frogs. Their chances together can be improved in a pond setting. But, a 10gal would become a sort of cage fighting arena with the losers being determined by the death count.

I would go for a 25 or 30 G tank
but what the hell do i know

i dont think the mix would be a good idea but never tried it so dont really know

hmm, sucks, really wished it will work, i guess i will have to make seperate environments for my newts and turtles, thx anyways

ya good lucj keep us posted

Won;t work for sure.. Even if the frogs and newts are too small to be easily eaten the turtle WILL tear them apart.. Plus females Red eared sliders need a MINIMUM of a 100 gallon tank, Mines outgrown a 50 and is now getting a 74'' pool, just to let you know their size..

No Newts because of this.. even baby RES's will do this..

Reasons why not to put turtles with anything you dont want eaten..

1.) Snakes

2.)Fish ( FRT's possibly an exception )

3.)Frogs WILL be eaten just couldn't fing pictures of it.

4.) FInally SIZE. Could you imagine this in a 10 gallon?

EDIT: Whoops took so long posting this I missed your reply..

thanks for shareing

Also worth pointing out that firebelly newts are toxic and
could possibly kill the turtle if eaten.
