i just got back from my lfs with my first turtle would it be ok in tap water till i get home? to put it in a 20 gallon tank
 
ok thanks i was woried cause hes in a bath tub right now hes got a spot for basking
cant wait till i gett home to put him in the tank
 
off my head about 5 inches long ikno im getting getting my 55 set up for him
 
Yep he's gonna need a big tank for sure. 55 will be good for awhile but plan on a 75G as a minimum tank size, if that's not a possibility in the near future you can go with a big rubbermaid-type container, very economical and easy to keep clean.

I have mine in a rubbermaid, 4.5'x22''x14''
I mightr be getting another RES, a pastel or an albino!

i got a 75 gallon but the bottom went to hell while in storage and broke so hell get set up when its repaired
