Can someone tell me what minimum size tank a red eared slider can go in? How about a 60 gl

The rule of thumb is 10G per inch of turtle, and female RES can get up to 12", so a 120G should be kept in mind for future housing.

How big is the turtle now? A 60 gal would give you plenty of time to upgrade if he/she is still pretty small (under 4)", but a larger tank will eventually be required. They grow relatively slow (at least when compared to fish) so you would have some time.
