Oregon, it's part of 'Murica!
Thinking of maybe importing me a semi-nice male in a month or so. What are the fertility odds of a red eye kamfa. I know its more than a white eyed one but I mean if I get one is it like a good chance or what. Does it change with King Kamfa or Tan King?

More chance than a white eye, yes. Being fertility, it all depends on the fish. No one knows if a male flowerhorn is fertile or not unless proven so(besides ZZ - although there are ZZ out there that is infertile). As far as being a KK or a TK, it makes no difference. They all fall into the Kamfa category, therefore fertility rate is the same for all of the Kamfa varieties.

Personally would rather get a ZZ or RD but almost every one on aquabid is a kamfa of some kind. I just need to keep looking. If I am spending that kind of money I wanna be sure I can breed it.

Never know until you take a shot at it and try it for yourself. Test it with a KKP or BP. If you manage to get it to be fertile, then it is very well worth the trouble for a fertile Kamfa. If it is not fertile then you can sell it back out and try taking a shot at another one. Just remember that Kamfa can take anywhere between 1.5 - 2.5 years for it to be mature enough to breed. ;)

Do ZZ go by something else on Aquabid that I am some how over looking?

No, they only go by ZZ or Red Dragon. And yes there is more Kamfa on Aquabid than any other variety, only because it is more sought after than other strains. :)

I'm too impatient to wait 2.5 years for it to become mature. I really would like a RD kinda like we4wieners has and grow it out but all the ones I see now are $200+ and 6"+. Wish I lived in SoCal.

Don't have to order from Aquabid at all, post up what you want on flowerhorncraze on the marketing section or cruise around there see if there is anything for you. If you don't mind paying shipping in the states then you should be fine, just make sure you get it shipped through Julie if the fish are from the bay in Cali. Take your time when it comes to choosing flowerhorn, when the right fish comes for the right price then in your mind it will be a "you just got to have it". :D

I know, I don't want to rush into it like I did with the ZZ I bought a couple weeks ago. Gonna try to sell it and see if I can get some of my money back, unless it breeds with my parrot before I can sell it. Really wish I could have bought this one when I had the chance http://www.petzonesd.com/product_info.php?products_id=491

To be honest, the bay area in Cali is where all the big flowerhorn guys are at. There is always a fish better than the other, no need to feel bad or regret about anything. :D
