Hello!
I am looking for red-eye puffers and have found no luck whatsoever both online and locally- so I have a few questions. 1- suggestions on where to find one??? 2- any other suggestions for small fish with personality (like 10-15 gallon range) 3- anyone have a puffer they don't want anymore? just kidding, just kidding (but seriously)

J Joshuakahan had a few a while back.
I’ve seen them occasionally at a few different LFS.
Beyond that you may have luck with aqua imports, aquascape online, or thatfishplace, to name a few.
If you have a hard time finding redeyes, dwarf puffers are a good substitute. Smaller but a close cousin. If you are willing to go brackish, figure 8s are nice.
Dwarf cichlids or small labyrinth fish (bettas, dwarf gourami, microctenopoma) also have a lot of personality. Dwarf frogs can be fun too. None of these should be mixed with each other or with puffers.

I have been checking those sites regularly, along with the Wet Spot and aquabid. Thanks for the other recs, I wish I wasn't so stuck on puffers sometimes haha. Some of the smaller labyrinth fish are definitely on my backup list, along with pygmy sunfish.

I bought mine from Trinsfish, I just checked and they’re out of stock now, you may be able to see if she can get more. It’s a small store, but I’ve ordered several times and everything has been great.

Steve at exoticfishshop may be able to get them as well, you might have to ask him though if they’re not in stock

I just emailed all three of those places to see if they will be/ could get them in for me. Thanks for the help so far!

Most of the more exotic puffers tend to be seasonal, so would expect them to become more readily available around summer usually...
