Okay I have a question (a few really)
I want to get a Dither/Target fish for my 180gal(West/Central Africa Biotope) Stock is planned as
Bichirs(Endli, Lap, Weeksii, Ornate)
African Arowana
2 African Pike (Hepsetus odoe)

I'm going to have two 24"-32" hollow logs inside the tank where the tetras could theoretically hide(convicts are doing just this in my 75gal atm) and it will be fairly well planted (check my set-up thread)
Do you think I could use these or Congo Tetras? is there another schooling fish that gets MAXimum 6" from West Africa? if I added them first(they'd have the tank for a month by themselves) do you think they'd grow enough and avoid full predation? I also understand i could lose a few, but i want to sustain at least 15.

Red eyes can hit the 4" mark, so only your big fish will target them... theyre far easier to come by and slightly cheaper than congos so id go with red eyes.
they're little tanks too, very robust fish. make sure you have a lot of them, 15+ sounds really good, so they dont nip your other fish.

Well if you only want Tetras it's a bit difficult since they will probably die, But another option would be a nice school of Myseus Silver Dollars.

to my knowledge SDs are South American species....Also I'm thinking maybe doing African Longfinned Tetra says they get 5" versus Arnolds that get 3-4"?

Oh yeah you want a African Setup...I'm a south american person actually but if I wanted to get into African I probably could.
