Hey guys, a friend of mine has a sailfin molly, and over the last day or so, it's developed a red, almost bloddy eye thats a little bit swollen. All the other fish in her tank are fine, Pics to come here in the next 20 minuites or so, just wondering if nyone has any ideas.

just some additional info, the fish is in a little 2.5 gallon tank with another sailfin molly and a fancy guppy.

Heres a picture of the eye.
Her fins are down most of the time, Bacterial infection maybe?

Let us know if yall have any ideas, or if you recommend putting her in an extra empty 20 gal i could use for an impromptu hospital tank

Let me know!!

It could be an injury, an infection though those tend to turn grey, or even an embolism, not much you can do.

its a MOLLY

theyre kind of monstrous i guess. :D

They reproduce a lot, that counts. Monster loads of babies. :screwy:

Could be bacterial. If you really want to go all out, then isolate it , give it a salt bath first, then try a broad spectrum antibacterial if the fish doesnt respond to salt.

Thanks for all the help guys, she hasnt gotten any worse. If her symptoms continue, ill let you all know, I hop she's a mommy, it would be neat.
