My LFS picked up a PBass he says its a wild mono...so my questions are. Are all Cichla with red eyes wild? or are there farmies with red eyes? and I thought mainly Ocells and Orinos have the red eye effect...I know he isn't an Orino thats for sure. So do monos have red eyes also? Thanks Fellas!!!

i know some wild monos can have red eyes.. majority of all wild caught cichla can show red eyes..

true dat

my orino has red eyes just got him like two days ago and its wild. but ive seen occells with some super red eyes probabyl f1's and my mono has red eyes but looks like a farmie. it probably can be and f1??

anyone else?

not all wild fish have red eyes.. if it looks like a monos and its eyes are pretty red then it may be a wild mono, usually wild monos have alot of bright yellow on their body's, red on their belly, under their gills, alot of green in their tail, bright yellw ring, they will have holographic outlining around their bars. most wild monos have thick/wide black bars.. if its eyes are blazing red.. like eleven bravo's* and looks like that cichla with a bit more greenish then its probably a wild occelaris.. its kind of hard to help you out without a pick so you will have to use your best judgement ... how big is it? this will help with the descriptions i gave you. i will try to give you more info ;)

thanks bro! i knew you chime in with a bit more description...f'it imma go take a picture of it this weekend..
