My House!
So I'm able to find very little info on them, I've read that they get up to 16 inches long, is this correct? I can't find anything else on their size, can anyone tell me how deep (tall?) they get, and how thick they get?

Example: my male silver dollar is roughly 20cm long, 17cm deep (tall?) and 1-2cm thick.

Thanks in advance. :)

Post Script: What is it called, Deep? Tall? Vertical length? I'm not sure what to call it. :D

the one in my tank is about 15 inches but i have seen them a bit over 2 ft

yup, have seen large ones around 2ft and to give you an idea, their vertical span if their fins are extended is approximately 2/3 of their length.

Sweet, thanks. Do you (or anyone else) know how 'thick' they get? If a 15 inch flagtail has a vertical span of roughly 10 inches (2/3 its body length), would it be over 5 inches thick through the thickest part of their body (like a large cichlid) or more like 2-3 inches?

Sorry if my questions seem silly, I'm just trying to learn all I can about these fish. :)

I don't think it will be 5 inches thick, more like 3 inches or so for that size. Mine that's 9-10" is not even 2 inches thick yet I don't think.

Thanks. :D Two more questions if I may... I've read conflicting information about their aggression, do you know they could be kept in groups (provided one had a massive tank) of 10-15 individuals, with a group of large clown loaches?
And what's their growth rate? How long (roughly) would it take to get a 5" flagtail to a 15" flagtail? :)

Thank you for putting up with my questions.

Post script: does anyone have a decent link they can give me with some info on them? Thanks. :)
