Just quick question =^_^=

I read somewhere that if u add a flame scallop in your tank and there is a star in it, that the star fish will eat the scallop. I would think something like a serpant star might eat it... but would a Happy Sand Sifting Star Fish or a Red Star Fish Take interest in the clam and eat it =^_^=?

but wierdly ive seen some LFS that have the Flame Scalops in the same tank as a few Serpant Stars and some Long Spine Urchins =0_o= Whats going on here lol =^_^=

are they really that not hardy? oviousely im going to feed them with a their proper food using a seringe of some sort =^_^= but soo you mean to say as long as they stay alive.. the the star fish will not eat them? the ones ive seen in the LFS have been alive for months and are living with serpant stars.. there were like 1 or 2 that i saw that were completly empty.. im guesing those are the ones that died and were picked eaten clean by a starfish proably.... it makes me wonder =S

yea, you would have to be really dedicated to heavy feeding and heavy water changes to keep one alive. i've tried, only lasted about 6 months =(

Also, as you will read in that article, they scoot themselves behind the rock, where they are more comfortable. Either you never see them/can't feed them where they die & foul your tank.

oh mys... yeah i have read articles, about these guys, from different views.. so far most of them are not to buy it... hmm perhaps i wont buy this after all if i have to constantly baby sit it.. and itz going to scoot around the nano tank trying to hide itz self and possibly knocking down some polyps and other stuff in the process... doesnt sound fun... This clam should be called Baby Terrible Toddler Clam LOL Cuz it needs to be babyed and watch cuz it makes a mess and scoots all over the place LOL

Cant have them running around and then fouling tank.. specially a nano, the thought of it crashing the tank over night is funny lol.. ermm should i say scary.

Alright thx for your input guys. Decission is made. I shall NOT get Fire Flame Baby Scallop then. Thx guys =^_^=

Whew! The flame scallops of the word thank you.

flame scallops sounds like a dish u would serve in a restaurant.. a spicy appetizer thats flambeyed in front of you before serving perhaps. Sounds Yummy =^__^=

btw.. would a maxima clam be easier than a flame scallop provided that it gets the proper trace elements, flow, and good lighting =D?

No clams in a nano. Tood dificult to keep the parameters perfect in there.
