red fluorite and white sand?

I'm planning another planted tank and I'm wondering if I could use my left over red fluorite with a fine white sand on top.

Just wondering if anyone has tried something similar, I'm worried the sand will end up sinking in and I'll have a dirty looking red/brown/white sand.


Can anyone share any experiences?

It looks nice. Put the flourite towards the back and keep the front sand only. The flourite will end up on the top, but the combo works well.

Yea after some reading putting it at the backs my only option, got any pics of someone doing this?
