Okay.. since I didn't get a positive ID from posting my question on the sticky, I am going to repost my question here. Sold to me as a 'Red Gar'... looks like a spotted color morph but I am not sure. Can someone help me with the ID please?

Florida gar, I say it might be some rare color variation/morph or just stress or half way thru white tank treatment. give it a few weeks and it might change back to a normal looking FLG
you won't be able to tell if it's a spotted or Florida. Since its a color variation gar you could probably go with it being a Florida as they are bred in Asia while spotted to my knowledge are not. If it's wild caught it makes it easier if you know the location but my bet is on Florida
These 'red gar' are available here in the UK via a few importers and the importer I've dealt with says she gets them from Asia.
