red hair alge?

so i have this super bad hair ale problem and im workin on getin it under controal but ive never seen hair alge like this before, its a red color is this normal?

yeah good luck i've been struggling with my hair algae problem for 3 weeks now... i'm about to just rip everything up... my water conditions are pristine yet it still grows. maybe i'll pick up some more plants to outcompete them for nutrients

Your water conditions are "pristine" because the algae is consuming all the nutrients. You'll probably test zero for nitrate and phosphates. Keep up with the water changes and steer clear of the chemicals for now.

I'd bet the algae will out compete plants if it's bad enough.
