O.k., I know I just posted a thread about Sailfin Dragons buuuutt, those are a un-realistic dream at the moment. Sooo, I have had an interest in Red Head Agamas for a while and can get them cheap. Anyone have any input? I've read several caresheets off google and their habitat seems similar to beardies with pretty basic feeding needs. I was considering a male and 2 or 3 females. What do y'all think??

Jconley, you have a great taste in reptiles today! I've always want to get some of these guys too. I would love to do a BIG enclosure with large rocks in it similar to where the live in Africa. I'd keep a dozen or so in there. Someday, someday....

I was checking them out for a bit too. I think a trio would be awsome in a decent size enclosure. Its deffinatly different and something not alot of people have. I want one but can't ever find them around here. I think you should do it! Sorry but I don't have any info to offer you...I don't think you will find much around here.

I've been hearing that is a common thing lol. I like my lizards pretty placid so I think I might look into Desert Iguanas or Chuckwallas. These can both eat the same veggies as my beardie(s) so it won't be any extra work in that regard.

DESSERT IGS ARE AWESOME!!!!
My BF used to have one, he had it while he was in highschool and still had it when he moved in with me. Laid back lizard, quite tame most of the time. He LOVED to burrow under rocks and sand in his tank. Ate veggies and bugs (they aren't strict vegetarians like green iguanas, the do need their protein)
I would HIGHLY recommend getting one. You don't see too many of em around in the stores near me, and we tried looking all over for one at the Expo last year after his died. (Neglect on the part of a house-sitter, they left cage lid open and he got eaten by a cat)
