I would like to know how fast these guys grow. I just found out I have one and would like to know how much time I have before I need to get a bigger tank!
Red head cichlids gorwth rate

Hard to know what a red head is,
but, if it's Paratheraps bifasciatum or synspilum,(they both get red heads/faces)as do a few other Paratheraps,
my bifasciatum grew from eggs to about 5" in a year.
The parents are now 2 1/2 years old and are about 10" for the male and 8" for the female. I've seen a few old ones @ 14".
Growth rate can depend on proper nutrition and amount water changes.
