ive got a a male and a female to pair of, i was just wondering how to breed them is there any specail requirments or would i just let them get on with it has any 1 got any advise for me
thanks in advance jonny

Give them a decent sized tank, keep the water clean, and also use flower pots turned on their sides, that should be about all it requires.

PIC THESE FISH, im curious to see yours! but i agree big tank , but i hate flowerpots in tanks.... i'd put a bunch of slate under ur sand or gravel then stack some caves on top, most cichlids cant resist digging out a "perfect" spot for there eggs!

is a 6ft, 2ft , 2ft big enought and fower pots can they be plastic like the garden type?

I would say no on the plastic if it floats.. Plus it's more spendy...

WHich sp. of Red head are you talking about? Veija? Devils? Or Geos? Sorry if i missed something..

So sorry for picture quality not any good at taking pictures and ill need to find some flower pots

Wow dude they have grown since you tookk them off me, you really do not need to use your 6ft, a 3ft will be fine, let them lay, llok after their fry for a week, then put them back into the 6ft tank, and feed the baby fry on freshly hatched brine shrimp, in order to get them into breeding conditions, daily water changes and feeding them brine shrimp are not nessesary, bt benificialy, good luck :)

yeh they have grown loads. I think a lil bit bigger than a 2ft tank would be needed as the male is around 8", thanks for the advise rust

ummm dude i said 3ft ;)
