I have a pair of my red head geo's that bread and they are in a tank with lots of geo's, pleco's ,loache's ,a baby mbu puffer etc. the fry was swimming around the tank earlier but once the other fish moved in the geo's the parents sucked them up and are holding them in their mouth .I would like to move them to another than but not sure how. Im afraid if i try to net the parents they will let the fry out and they will get eaten. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

bump for info..

They shouldn't spit them out. Just keep a siphon going into a bucket, in case you have to catch a few fry.

Will do I'm siphoning water into a 55 gallon tank rite now the geo's are hiding under rocks rite now so I'm waiting on them to settle down so I can try and catch them thanks

When I tried to catch them they hit he rocks I know that one have is one of the pair becaus it is holding the babies in it's mouth but I'm not shire the other is rite if not will it eat the babies

Bit late to help, but might help down the road.

You can use a piece of pvc pipe. Place it in the bottom of the tank towards a corner, when they're spooked they'll likely all take turns hiding in it. You can pick the pipe up an inch or two to get the fish you aren't trying to remove out of it. When you see one of the fish you're after dart inside, just use your hands to cover the ends, and lift it out.

It's worked very well for plecos and other larger fish that otherwise would just tear around a tank stressing out and uprooting things. Not to mention the smooth interior won't harm your fish. Just take a second to make sure the cut ends aren't rough.

Be ready with a siphon for stragglers.
