Hi All,

I currently have a 125G tank with 4 Electric Blue Acara and 8 Roseline Sharks. I'm looking to complete it with either 5 Geophagus "Red Head" Tapajos or 5 Geo Altifrons Rio Tapajos. I can't decide between the two. It seems like the Red Heads have a little more color, however, the Altifrons have longer, more beautiful trailers.

What are your thoughts? Do you prefer one over the other?

Thanks!

I have the chance to land some small koi angelfish, too. Can I put them together? Are angelfish fin nippers? Hopefully, the EBAs don't bother my geos.

My electric blue acaras shredded and killed several angelfish. I would proceed with caution.

The orangehead geos would be a better choice IMO than altifrons.

No, I had mine mixed in with orangeheads and G. parnaibae with no issues. The only fish they were ever aggressive toward were the angels.

Ok, so I got 5 wild caught Geo Red Heads this weekend. 2 males and 3 females. All 5 seem to really hate each other . . . not pairing off. Just equally going after each other. Yesterday I noticed that one of the females has her tube down and (probably) a male was with her. They got along with each other and claimed a spot by a rock in the middle of the tank, keeping the other Geo's away. Today, that female still has her tube down but she won't let any of the Geos near the middle of the tank, not even the male. I don't see eggs anywhere and they are all going at each other equally. WTH is going on?
