Hey everyone,

I'm looking into getting a red head tapajos geo specially ordered for me, but I wanna make sure I get the right thing ordered. So far, I have found 3 different names for the red head geophagus:

Geophagus Araguaia "Red head Araguaia"

Geophagus Aporema "Red head Tapajos"

Geophagus Tapajos "Red head Tapajos"

Obviously the last choice would seem like the right one, but when looking up Red head Tapajos on google, all 3 names appear on different websites listing them as the scientific name for the species.

All 3 are listed on the distributors list, but its possible only 1 or 2 of the 3 is actually available right now, so I wanna make sure I don't get the wrong thing if forced to order 1 of them.

Thanks

RHT isn't described so it doesn't have a scientific name and is known by numerous trade names.

I see it commonly as:
Geophagus sp. "red head tapajos"
Geophagus sp. "tapajos - red head"
Geophagus sp. "orange head tapajos"
Geophagus tapajos "red head"(This one is clearly wrong)

In his book, "South American Earth Eaters". Wiedner calls it Geophagus sp. "Tapajos Orange Head" and Geophagus sp. "Tapajos Red Cheek"
