Finally this has occurred for me. Grew this fish out from about 3/4" now they vary from 3"-5"+. My biggest nicest male is spawning with my biggest nicest female! My excitement is short lived though, now when I move them to a breeder they may not spawn again for months with my luck. Oh well...Anybody have any transition pointers?

how long did it take to grow them out to this stage?

Congrats one of my favorite Geo spscies.

gday,

have bred a few of these before and found that they can be quite agro towards each other (mainly male at the female) and i have heard that they can kill there partner. with this in mind, i have always bred them in a colony, with pairs splitting off from the group to spawn. when a pair has a spawn, instead of the male attacking the female, they both take there aggression out on the other orange heads. the only problem is catching them and milking the fry out, if your not careful they will eat the eggs/fry if stressed out to much.

cheers
