what are the tank requirements for a red high fin wolf fish. Also how fast do they grow and what would some possible tank mates be. thanks for your help

min. a 40 breeder.
grow very slow.
get up to 8 inches usually.
feed meaty foods and pellets.
any tankmate that wont pick on them, doesnt look like them, isnt too small or isnt too big is fine.

could a 3-4' red wolf live in a 10 gallon for a month or 2 while my 55 is cycling. LFS has 1 left and they said they wont get anymore for 6 months or so, and i dont wanna wait that long but the 55 isnt ready yet.

In my opinion honestly if its only for a month it should be fine. I say this also b/c 6 months is a long time to wait, so being the fish is still rather small and a slow grower i say go for it. Just remember with less water make sure you keep a good eye on your water parameters in the 10g. And get him in the 55g ASAP, as he will enjoy the extra swimming room. Good Luck

Not the best thing but you could do it. He's probably not in much bigger than that right now at the LFS anyway. Why two months to cycle your 55 though?

You could do it but get him in the 55 asap.

Mine is doing great with bichirs and a rope fish. Gonna try some more tank mates when I move them to my 120.

Mine is growing out in a 10 but is really active so he will be much happier and a funner pet in a larger tank

As for tank mates i would say that any thing that could handle getting picked on wolfs are tuff fish nothin could pick on my wolf with out getting picked on its self

when it comes to tank mates you just gotta try your luck. don't put in fish to small because they will surely be eaten. fish roughly around the wolf's size should be ok just make sure they can defend themselves. my experience with them was that they tolerated most other fish they didn't veiw as food and that didn't look like them.

Damn I wish they were legal in Florida, I would get one in a heartbeat. I have an empty tank running and everything! =\
