Red hook action!

Well some of the male redhooks in my group try to breed on a regular basis and during this they go very black and look awesome not ever really seen any pix of this on the web or it ever documented so i thought id get some, the pix dont show the black though much darker in the flesh

They do breed all the time just that in that tank no fry survive due to predatation.

Very cool pix! Do the males get a slight bump on the nose when breeding too, or is that always there on them? How large are they, and did they ever have any red on their hooks? In the pics it looks as if the red hooks have faded completely...

Hi, the bump camefrom bashing into the tank/decor unfortunately. I dont have these anymore but they were a good 8-9" probs. They did have very red hooks but the flash drowned out a lot of the colour.
