I have 2 Red Hooks,1 is about 6 inches, the other is about 5 inches.I had them in with a larger Pacu,i got rid of the Pacu about 3 weeks ago and since then the larger Hook hasent eaten anything. The smaller 1 eats like a pig. What could be causing this, what can i do to change this??

Ive got 6 silver dollars with my pacu.they act like there all family almost like the pacu is momma.maybe its missing the pacu? fish can go a long time with no food.in time it will come around.good luck..

Howdy,

Red Hooks not eating is quite unusual. Try offering some greens, e.g. lettuce that you quickly (2 sec) dipped into boiling water. Use a veggie clip to offer it at medium depth of your tank.

You could also offer small 2-3" live earthworms.

or crickets. Mine loved crickets, too.

but then: There was nothing they didn't eat....

its either stressed or has a disease, my redhook devours everything,

good luck
