i got some Myleus rubripinnis. i looked them up and some have red blotching and some do not. is this male and female traits or just random if they get them? mine do not have any of the orange specs on there sides as of now. 3.5 to 4 inches.
I've only noticed large adults that have the blotches...mine don't have them and they are about 3 inches or so. I don't think there is much sexual dimorphism in silver dollars although I could be wrong. More than anything it seems to be random though.
My 8" red hooks have lots of orange on them. And red hooks are easy to sex. Females have a full hook but males look like a something took a big bite off the hook.
